Little Angels brings joy to Englewood. We give our students tender loving care, we nurture our little ones as well as teach them skills. I have noticed that a lot of our scholars have been selected to gifted schools they really grow academically; we even had one student that has graduated from high school with several scholarships to college, and that started from here.
Not only do we engage with the children, but also we are involved with the parents . We make the parent feel important and special through consistent praise, warmth and energy. There can be so much chaos, and we parents and residents, we need a place where love and peace are exhibited, where we our little ones can be expressive and we can express ourselves, too.
Little Angels is where excellence is our expectation.
— Ms. Lakeisha Veal, Parent Ambassador
We have a strong team to get the work done. I love being able to share my personality when greeting the parents at pickup and drop-off — at the end of the day, when my kids leave happy and with a smile on their face, I can tell that they are responding to our environment in a positive way.
Little Angels makes you want to come to Englewood. This community has limited resources, but we are open arms and a warm smile.

I have been working with Little Angel since 2009. I get great joy out of how the children grow and develop — when they come in, they first cry and carry on, but as they develop, they will sing and make eye contact with our educators. We work to be a fun, loving place for parents to bring their children: We have great expectations for their growth and development.
Little Angels is a part of so many community activities, and I think that’s absolutely fantastic!

I’ve been here 12 years, and that warm fuzzy feeling I get when I enter the door delights me. Everyone greets you with warm smiles and a “hello” — even if parents are having a not-so-good day, they still manage to smile or laugh when dropping off their children or the day, because we treat everyone as family. There’s a bond that all the team members have with one another.
Little Angels is important to Englewood because not only does the school meet the needs of the children, we also try to meet the needs of the families, so their children can become better learners. It gives me great joy to see the parents accomplish their own goals that they set for themselves, and to know that I had a hand in helping them.
— Ms. Byars
I’ve been at Little Angels for almost 20 years, and I can say that we are always willing to go that extra mile for our families. When families have concerns, teachers and/or administrators speak with the families about their concern and give them materials that can help them with that concern. We connect with many families and develop relationships. We’re a team that goes above and beyond.
The greatest joy I get is being part of a community that helps children learn, grow and develop to their greatest potential. And it’s important to support our neighborhood — during the Covid pandemic, we passed out food each week, and also provided masks, sanitizer and gloves.
Little Angels is family to Englewood. We support and bring people together to advocate and support each other, period.
— Ms. Turner
All four of my children attended Little Angels. I had years of experience in daycare, and I saw things at Little Angels that I didn’t see from my experiences — the people at Little Angels were dedicated, involved with the parents, the kids always had assignments…I had to know what Little Angels was doing that the places different from the places I had been working, so one day I took off work to see.
I saw that they were meeting with parents and giving them an opportunity to participate. And as my children went on from Little Angels, I saw how confident they were; they weren’t intimidated, they knew how to wash their hands, how to raise their hands, just how to be in a classroom. Teachers would always comment positively and ask what school they came from. Little Angels took my kids a long way, and that foundation still takes them far.
When I was able to come to Little Angels, Ms. Greer-Adams showed compassion for me and helped me find a way forward professionally. I had been the field for so many years but no one showed me that kind of love or expressed interest to invest in my education, no one gave me the opportunity. Now, people have showed me what I need to do to be a better teacher: the scholarship, the best practices; at Little Angels I could watch and see, and that’s what allowed me to understand the process, and that’s how I passed my test.
Little Angels is a phenomenal place. I can recommend them to anyone, from anywhere. We’re a family, we’re a big family.
